Hotel Inna Garuda Yogyakarta : Keeping The Legacy Alive

A&R Hospitality has recently been appointed as the independent consultant for hotel audit and management under the management of PT. Hotel Indonesia Natour (Persero). As our first assignment, we have been tasked with managing one of the group’s best hotel, Hotel Inna Garuda Yogyakarta. The hotel is no ordinary hotel: Among tourists who often visit Yogyakarta, “Hotel Garuda” is known as one of the city’s icons.

Hotel Inna Garuda Yogyakarta has undergone seven transformations, including name changes, since its establishment in 1908, from Grand Hotel De Djokdja, Hotel Asahi, Hotel Merdeka, Hotel Garuda, to Hotel Natour Garuda. In the annals of hospitality industry in Indonesia, there has been no other hotel that has stood the tests of time and has continued to operate for 108 years under a local management. The hotel has continued to contribute to the tourism industry not only in the national level but also in the international level. The hotel truly is a legend!

This is indeed an honor for A&R Hospitality to be entrusted with the task of acting as the independent consultant. We are entrusted to improve the management of Hotel Inna Garuda Yogyakarta, and we see this as part of our contribution in keeping alive the legacy of this hotel brand which is not only one of the jewels of Yogyakarta but also the pride of the country.
